Subheading
Mikumi National Park lies in southern Tanzania, forming part of the wider ecosystem that links Nyerere National Park to the east with Ruaha National Park to the west. The park showcases a variety of landscapes, from open grasslands where elephant, zebra, and buffalo graze, to classic African savannah framed by the dramatic Udzungwa and Uluguru Mountains. Pockets of miombo woodland shelter unique birdlife and smaller species, adding to the park’s ecological diversity. Though more compact than its neighbours, Mikumi supports an impressive concentration of wildlife and habitats, making it a rewarding and often overlooked safari destination within Tanzania’s southern circuit.
