Work With Us

About Us

Bush & Beyond has always been built on relationships: with the people who travel with us, the agents who trust us, the properties we represent and, above all, with one another. We are a family-run company, and that shapes the way we work. Our leadership is accessible and involved, our team knows and supports one another personally, and when things get busy, everyone is willing to step beyond their job description to get the job done.

Working here means learning the safari industry from the inside. New team members work alongside colleagues with decades of experience, gaining knowledge that goes far beyond destinations, rates and logistics. They learn what makes a safari truly exceptional: careful planning, an instinct for the smallest details and strong, trusted relationships developed over many years. In return, we look for people who bring initiative, resourcefulness, warmth and accuracy to their work, together with a genuine love of safari and the places we are privileged to share.

We want Bush & Beyond to be somewhere people are proud to build their careers—a place where knowledge is generously passed on, responsibility is earned and good people are given room to grow. By investing in the next generation of safari professionals, we hope to protect the knowledge, relationships and spirit that lie at the heart of this industry, while building a company that will carry them forward for generations to come.

Travel Sales Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Travel Sales Assistant to support our Safari Planning team.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will help turn enquiries into accurate, well-presented quotations and itineraries. You will work closely with our Safari Planners, camps, lodges and other suppliers, helping to keep each enquiry moving and ensuring the information behind every proposal is complete and correct.

What sets this role apart is the breadth of experience it offers. You will learn how East African safaris are built from the ground up, develop a strong understanding of our destinations and products, and gain hands-on experience in the systems, rates and logistics behind exceptional safari planning.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and issue quotations and invoices using our tour operator software, Tourplan, ensuring that rates, applicable special offers, inclusions and exclusions are correctly applied.
* Provide day-to-day administrative and sales support to the Safari Planning team.
* Draft and format accurate, polished itineraries, proposals and supporting documents.
* Track the progress of quotations, follow up on outstanding enquiries and maintain complete and up-to-date records.
* Liaise with camps, lodges and other suppliers regarding availability, provisional bookings and confirmations.
* Check that all information shared with clients and agents is clear, accurate and professionally presented.
* Help the team manage multiple enquiries and deadlines during busy periods.
* Build your knowledge of East Africa’s destinations, properties and safari experiences.

Requirements

* Strong numeracy and a high level of accuracy—quotations and invoices need to be right the first time.
* Excellent written English and a professional, service-oriented manner.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines at once.
* Confidence using reservations or booking software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
* A diploma or degree in tourism, hospitality, business or a related field.
* The initiative to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
* A genuine interest in East African travel, wildlife and conservation.

Advantageous

* Previous experience in a travel, tourism, reservations or sales-support role.
* Working knowledge of Tourplan or comparable tour operator software.
* Familiarity with East Africa’s safari destinations, camps and lodges.
* Experience preparing quotations, invoices, itineraries or client-facing proposals.
