The main guest areas include a dining room, lounge, bar, and expansive veranda – all overlooking a natural rock infinity pool and a busy waterhole below. Frequented by a wide array of wildlife, it’s the perfect location to spend hours at ease – soaking up the beauty of the landscape, the light, and the ‘visitors’ passing by.

The Rooms

Sarara Camp features 6 spacious and beautifully appointed en-suite tents – each with uninterrupted views. All of the suites feature solar-heated outdoor showers with magnificent views, as well as indoor changing areas and multiple hand basins and loos.

Beautiful wooden butler boxes allow for the discreet delivery of early morning tea, coffee and cookies.

Two of the tents are interconnected with an outdoor path, making this an ideal family unit – and both suites can be set up as either double or twin rooms.

Sarara House

Sarara Camp also offers the exclusive-use two-bedroom Sarara House – which is perfect for families or friends and includes a magnificent plunge pool, private dining, and spacious lounge area with awe-inspiring views.

The two ensuite bedrooms share a sitting/dining area, and are not interconnected. Each of the rooms has its own outdoor bathroom as well indoor amenities. The sitting area overlooks the private pool and there is also an upstairs dining space. Meals are served in the House but guests can also choose to dine in the main camp.

Sarara House has become famous for its elephants, who regularly visit its pool – much to guests’ delight! The house has its own dedicated vehicle and guide.

Sustainability

All of Sarara’s lodges are entirely eco-friendly, off the grid, and rely on solar systems for power. Fresh food is kept in specially designed charcoal ‘bush fridges’ which are soaked with water twice a day and the process of evaporation ensures cellar temperatures. Water is gravity fed by fresh, pure mountain springs – and then passed through a UV filter. No plastic water bottles or straws are used, and dedicated recycling practices are in place.

Our goal is to inspire a global community of conservationists to help us create long term sustainability for Kenya’s magnificent cultural and natural heritage. At Sarara, our flagship blend of experiential travel, conservation and community offers a truly unique and immersive experience that gives back to the people and the land that need it the most.
