Maasai Mara Conservancies

Maasai Mara Conservancies

The Mara, experienced with greater privacy and flexibility.

Why the Mara Conservancies?

A More Personal Mara

Bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the conservancies offer a more exclusive and flexible way to explore this iconic ecosystem. With limited bed numbers and carefully managed tourism, wildlife encounters feel unhurried and deeply personal.

Notable conservancies include Mara North, Olare Motorogi, Naboisho, Olderkesi, Ol Chorro, Lemek, Enonkishu, Mara Siana and the emerging Ripoi Conservancy - each offering access to prime big cat territory while maintaining lower vehicle density. Off-road driving, night drives and guided walks are permitted here, creating a broader safari experience than the Reserve alone.

Wildlife density remains exceptional, particularly for lion and cheetah, while guiding flexibility allows for extended sightings and deeper tracking. For couples, photographers and repeat safari guests, the conservancies balance iconic Mara wildlife with meaningful exclusivity. They pair beautifully with time in the Reserve or stand confidently on their own.

Family

Across Bush & Beyond, our property owners have raised their own children in the wild places they call home. They understand how to balance adventure with comfort, freedom with reassurance, and how to create the kind of shared experiences that become family stories for generations.

This journey brings together the forested sanctuary of The Emakoko, the wildlife-rich plains of Mara Siana, the conservation heartland of Lewa House, the adventurous spirit of Ol Malo Lodge and the cultural depth of Sarara Camp, a beautifully paced safari designed for curious minds, open horizons and meaningful time together.
