Tangulia Ndogo

Tangulia Ndogo

Exclusive use, exceptional guiding, and some of the Mara’s richest wildlife.

Overview

Tangulia Ndogo

Tangulia Ndogo is an intimate, exclusive-use tented camp set on private land on the western edge of the Maasai Mara, offering guests complete privacy and exceptional flexibility. Ideal for families or small groups, the camp combines a warm, home-from-home atmosphere with outstanding access to the Mara’s most prolific wildlife areas, including the Musiara Marsh, Rhino Ridge, the short-grass plains and the Mara Triangle. Owned and run by legendary Maasai guides Jackson Looseyia and Dominic Nchoe, Tangulia Ndogo delivers deeply authentic guiding, rich cultural insight and some of the finest big-cat viewing in the ecosystem, all without the crowds.

Accommodation
Tents

Tangulia Ndogo has two ensuite tents built on raised wooden decks under a thatched roof. The bathrooms are thoughtfully finished, with hot and cold running water and flush toilets, ensuring comfort in a classic safari setting. Each tent opens onto a shaded private verandah overlooking the salt lick, where wildlife regularly gathers. Interiors are finished with comfortable, high-quality linen and subtle beaded detailing handcrafted by a local women’s group, adding a distinctive sense of place and a meaningful connection to the surrounding community.

Family Tent

The Family Tent has family tent of two ensuite bedrooms with a small shared sitting area positioned in the centre with views over the salt lick towards the Mara river.

Exclusive Camp

The large and open sitting and mess area overlooks the Olotulo Murt salt lick and the Mara River. A wide veranda hugs the front of the mess area, where you can watch the wildlife come and go as they please without having to leave the camp. The camps decor reflects the Masai ownership and furniture in the camp has been made onsite, from fallen indigenous trees. In the evening, gather around the fireplace with a drink in hand, and reminisce on the days events.

Pause your morning game drive for a relaxed picnic-style breakfast set in the bush. Enjoy your meal while surrounded by open plains and distant wildlife. A peaceful interlude that combines flavour, scenery and the sounds of the wilderness.

Hands-On Maasai Heritage

Spend time in the Maasai bomas where children can learn directly from young warriors about daily life, traditions and skills. Through storytelling and practical demonstrations, guests gain meaningful insight into Maasai culture in an authentic, engaging setting.

Sundowners

Gather at a scenic viewpoint as the African sky shifts through warm evening colours. Enjoy drinks and light refreshments while listening to Maasai stories shared by your hosts. A relaxed and atmospheric way to mark the close of the day.

The Great Migration

During migration season, witness vast herds of wildebeest and zebra moving across the plains in one of nature’s most dramatic spectacles. Hosted by experienced guides, position yourself for unforgettable sightings of river crossings and predator action. A powerful reminder of the scale and rhythm of the wild.

There is an overwhelming number of tented bush camp choices in the Maasai Mara in Kenya. Why choose Tangulia Mara? My daughter and I stayed there in mid-July 2024 for 4 nights, and we can’t think of a single thing that could be improved. Not one. From the people, to the accommodations, to the stunning views, to the unbelievably good food, it was perfect.
