EXPERIENCE - MARA SIANA IN ACTION

Maasai Village Visits

Guests have the opportunity to visit authentic Maasai villages, offering meaningful cultural encounters beyond staged tourist experiences. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who acts as an interpreter, visits provide insight into daily life, traditions, and community roles. Village visits typically last from 30 minutes to a few hours and are often scheduled ahead of an afternoon game drive.

Guided Walks & Hikes

Guided walking safaris offer a closer, more immersive perspective of the African bush. Led by a knowledgeable guide and an armed ranger, these walks focus on tracks, spoor and the subtle signs of wildlife activity, revealing the smaller wonders of the landscape. Walks range from 30 minutes to a few hours and are a rewarding complement to game drives.

Sundowners

Sundowners at Mara Siana are enjoyed in carefully chosen spots within the surrounding wilderness, as the light softens and the Mara landscape shifts into evening. Guests relax with a drink in hand while watching the sun dip below the horizon, often accompanied by wildlife sightings and the sounds of the bush - a timeless safari ritual and a perfect way to end the day

Game Drives

Mara Siana offers two guided game drives daily within the wildlife-rich Mara Ripoi Conservancy, typically in the early morning and late afternoon. Timings remain flexible, allowing each drive to be shaped by wildlife activity and guest preferences. Night drives are also available, providing a rare opportunity to encounter the conservancy’s nocturnal species. Game drives into the Maasai Mara National Reserve can be arranged on request; applicable park fees are payable separately.

Balloon Safaris

Experience the Mara Reserve from a different perspective with an unforgettable hot-air balloon safari. Departing in the early morning, guests watch the balloon inflate before lifting gently into the sky for a 45–60 minute flight over the plains below. Upon landing, the experience is crowned with a champagne breakfast served in the bush, before returning to camp later in the morning.

Bush Breakfast

A bush breakfast at Mara Siana is a memorable way to start the day, set in a scenic spot within the surrounding wilderness. Guests enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast served in the open air, with views across the landscape and the sounds of the bush all around. Carefully arranged by the camp team, the experience combines excellent food with a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere, often accompanied by wildlife sightings as the day begins - a simple yet special moment that captures the essence of safari life.

Cultural Games

Children at Mara Siana can enjoy a wide range of hands-on and age-appropriate activities, from spear throwing, archery, wildlife tracking, and family-focused game drives to guided walking safaris. Cultural experiences may include visits to local schools, spending time herding livestock alongside Maasai children, and learning to identify and count wildlife. Back at camp, younger guests can join the chef to bake treats, making for a fun and enriching safari experience for the whole family.

β€œThere are very few countries in the world where the community and wildlife are living so close to each other and coexisting. If every human being on the planet came to visit places like this, they’d be much more inclined to fight to protect them.”
