Juliana Muambi
Hi! My name is Juliana Muambi and I have over 20 years’ experience in the Tourism Industry, most of those years happily working at Bush and Beyond as a Safari Specialist. Over all those years, this one thing never changes for me: planning safaris is more about creating experiences than anything else and nothing makes me happier than to provide that for clients, selling our unique Kenya properties that I’ve had the honor to experience a majority of. I also happen to be a proud mum of 2 amazing kids, and grandmother to a sweet growing granddaughter.

My big passion and the ultimate decision to chart a career in the tourism industry came about visiting the animal orphanage in my childhood. I am a proud mum of 3 with over 15 years of experience in the safari business. Precision, discretion, passion, clarity and imagination aid me in my goal of creating the most revered and admired safari experiences in East Africa. As a family we love adventure and travel. It is no doubt that I love my job and being part of the Bush & Beyond family is amazing!!

Growing up with parents who were both in the Tourism industry was intriguing and that made me want to eventually work in the Tourism industry. Many years later, with no academic background in Tourism (graduated from Daystar University with a B.A in Community Development and Psychology), I now enjoy working at Bush and Beyond offering support to my Sales Consultant colleagues. So far I’ve been to Mara, Lewa, Samburu, Loisaba, Diani, Mombasa, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zanzibar. For fun, find me in the comfort of a kitchen trying out new recipes, singing somewhere or building a team in my local church.

Sometimes it feels like I just bumped into this industry and its stole my soul. 13 years at Cheli & Peacock growing from a marketing assistant to a safari consultant. Each destination is so unique that I never tire of researching the details and bringing these enchanting places to life. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to help people realize their travel dreams; by using my personal knowledge acquired through visiting some amazing places to design the best safaris for them. What gets me each time, is the vastness that Africa is - so much to unwrap and discover- the adventure continues.

Straight out of Daystar University, with a communication and Public Relations degree, never in my wildest dreams did I see myself working in the tourism industry as a safari planner and now there’s no place I’d rather be.
As an avid traveler, I enjoy smooth and fun filled travels and that is no less that what I would like to offer Bush & Beyond clients.

Can’t remember when I was not in tourism…from a young age working in air ticket sales, to helping set up camps in the mara, to working with a mobile safari company, and now for the last 14 years in international sales with Bush & Beyond. When I’m not at work, I enjoy going out and familiarizing myself with what our diverse country has to offer and beyond.

I have been with Bush & Beyond for 1 year now,
5 at Cheli & Peacock Safaris. Beyond pleased to have joined the Bush & Beyond family, as I don’t think there are many travel companies where multiple experts are still in situ after 20 years! Born and raised in Mombasa, am blessed with one little girl.

Following in the footsteps of my Dad, I have always had an interest in the tourism industry. I studied travel and tourism at Utalii College. In 1986, I was privileged to join United Touring Company (UTC), at a very young age. In February 2006, I was delighted to join the Bush and Beyond family, and continued to put my knowledge of the tourism industry to good use. Away from work, am a family lady blessed with 4 kids and enjoys travelling, Mountain climbing and participating in most of the Marathons.

Growing up in Nanyuki, the Safari bug grew on me from an early age, when we used to frequently visit Samburu as a family. I have been in the Safari industry for over 15yrs, starting off with selling Safaris around Kenya, and then expanding this to cover, Tanzania (including Zanzibar), Rwanda and Uganda. With a passion for local travel I have had the opportunity to travel around these countries extensively, and never tire of “another game drive”!

I was born and raised in Nairobi County. I have been with Bush & Beyond since 2017 and I could not have found a better and more honorable organization to work with. I studied Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration and Management in Daystar University, later joined Bush & Beyond. From when I was young, I have always enjoyed planning, organizing and travelling. Bush & Beyond has helped me sharpen and develop my skills as well as travel to many of the world’s magnificent destinations.

Growing up, my father had plenty of stories every time he returned from remote camping expeditions he would go with his then employers. It's from these evenings of shared laughter and curiosity that ignited an interest in tourism. 7 years now in the industry and having worked at Lewa House for most these years welcoming guests, a short stint at Safaris by Chameleon and now almost clocking one year with Bush and Beyond where safaris are curated with care and decade's worth of expertise, it's a full circle kind of experience for me. Adventures and discovering our vast world, good food, learning new cultures, sign me up and I'll gladly join when I'm not working.
